At first I was reluctant to spend $500 in a vacuum cleaner, but I am so glad that I finally took the plunge. Like many others, I purchased mine at BBY with 20% off coupon to save $100. The coupon says you can't use it for dyson, but they will let you.
Old vac vs. dyson: I vacuumed with my old vac first before the initial use of my new dyson to test its effectiveness. I was amazed at how much crud & pet hair this wonderful vacuum sucked up on its maiden voyage. dyson was the clear winner. The suction, as advertised, continues to be strong after six months of use in a home of approximately 2400 square feet in size.
Features: The canister is easy to empty. The brushes are easy to turn off (push of a button) for going from carpeting to wood floors. The built in cleaning wand is very handy to use. The lifetime washable HEPA filter is convenient, cost-effective, and environmentally friendly.
The dyson is much lighter and way more efficient than my old upright. I don't smell dust in the air when I vacuum like I did with my old vac--I don't have allergies, but if you do, this vac will please you. I don't find the cord overly short as some have written--it is just over 24.5 feet in length, so unless you have a room longer than 25 feet with only one outlet on one end, the cord length should be just fine. I have tendonitis in my right hand & wrist and I don't find the ball functionality to be hard on my wrist at all--the vacuum moves easily around obstacles and is easy to direct without a lot of effort.
I continue to be amazed at the great performance of this vac and I think you will be amazed, too.Get more detail about Dyson DC25 Ball All-Floors Upright Vacuum Cleaner.
