This vacuum is amazing at getting up pet hair. I'm not certain the ball mechanism is all that helpful Seems more like a gimick to me, but the vacuum works great. It's necessary to empty it frequently, particularly if you have pets. It doesn't take long at all to fill up. But it's easy to use and does a great job.

The hose and attachments are convenient and simple to use on the fly. My complaint would be that the hose is just too short for most things. It doesn't want to stretch too far from the main unit, making it very cumbersome to use for things like stairs - or anything else where you want the hose to be able to REACH.
