Dyson DC25 Ball All-Floors Upright Vacuum Cleaner Immediately

I've used 3 different dysons. This is the only one worth keeping. We had trouble with the other dysons due to inability to get the vacuum from a bare floor up onto a large area rug (the suction was too high). Furthermore other the dysons' brush would stall on thick carpet. Finally the other dysons were just engineered poorly; from having to step on the front of the vacuum to lower the handle to the weight to the impossible to retract extension hose - they were junk and all returned. The only good thing about the other Dyson models is the suction, and I found it to be too much. When I need that much suction, I use a $50 shop-vac. I'm happy to say that all of these issues with the other models are addressed with this new ball Dyson.

I could care less about turning radius of the ball, but it does make sweeping over rough surfaces much easier. I even vacuum my paver patio with it.

The canister is large enough for any normal job.

Compared to other vacuums half the cost, the power cord and the extension hose is far too short. Otherwise, this is a great vacuum. If you have the money, it is recommended. If you think it is expensive, a light weight $80 Eureka will more than do the job (and you can replace it every year if it breaks).
